Pennsylvania's Office of Developmental Programs covers Assistive Technology across the Consolidated, Community Living, and Person/Family Directed Support waivers: equipment, software, and services that help people increase their independence and exercise more choice and control.
Kibu qualifies as Assistive Technology.
A Supports Coordinator can authorize Assistive Technology when it ties to an assessed need and a goal in the person's Individual Support Plan.
Kibu fits that definition. Its classes and tools help people manage daily routines, build communication, and take part in their community, which reduces reliance on paid supports.
In the Consolidated Waiver, Assistive Technology runs up to $3,000 per year; in the Community Living and P/FDS waivers, it draws from the person's annual service limit.
